Preparing students to succeed

Mitch Rothstein
Mitch Rothstein: “Our program has grown in stature and reputation.”

Every September brings a cohort of new students and familiar faces to the DAN Program. This year is no different, as we welcomed 2,700 students into our program. That is a significant increase from the few hundred students who enrolled in the early years of the Administrative and Commercial Studies Program.

Since those early days, we have developed into the DAN Management and Organizational Studies Program, thanks to the landmark donation from entrepreneur and philanthropist Aubrey Dan.

Today, our program has grown in stature and reputation by finding a unique fit among other business schools in Canada. We educate outstanding students with a strong foundation in business combined with a broad education in the social sciences.

Recently, we redeveloped the curriculum into our five specializations: accounting, finance, consumer behavior, human resource management and commercial aviation management. Combining depth in one of these specializations with electives from across the university, our program equips students to jumpstart their professional career after graduating from Western.

Because of the generous contributions we have received from alumni and donors, we’re able to offer an exceptional program, one that not only prepares students for the business world but equips them to be extraordinary individuals.
