Professor V. Digby on Alternative Spring Break
Alternative Spring Break in Panama
17 Western students painted a local hospital, contributed to a 2-day medical clinic in the rural mountains of Coclosito and organized a community soccer game with local children.
From Professor Digby:
"I would like to extend my sincere appreciation to the MOS office for their contribution to support my trip to Panama a few weeks back. It was a wonderful 8 day trip. Because Panama is a 3rd world country that brought many challenges to our group of students, (i.e. no hot showers, no hydro between 10pm - 4pm daily, bugs/bugs/bugs/ extreme heat/humidity in the rainforest, lack of proper social services - from education to healthcare, severe poverty .. just to name a few).
