Management and Legal Studies

Management and Legal Studies combines management principles with a strong foundation in legal studies, focusing on how law applies to organizational decision-making in Canada. This interdisciplinary program prepares students to become effective and informed managers by exploring the relationship between legal frameworks and business practice. Students study areas such as:

  • contract law
  • public law
  • public administration and theory
  • enterprise risk management

While not a pre-law program, it provides a strong base for students who may wish to pursue further studies in law or careers in legal and regulatory environments. Visit the Western Law webpage for more information.

Enrollment in the Management and Legal Studies Honours Specialization and Specialization modules is competitive; meeting the minimum admission requirements does not guarantee acceptance into these programs. Students interested in pursuing a Management and Legal Studies module are encouraged to consult with a DAN Management academic advisor to explore program options, review admission requirements, and determine the pathway that best aligns with their academic and career goals.
