Johanna Weststar co-authored a report on quality of life issues (working conditions, work-life balance, etc.) in the video game industry and, using funds from the Dancap Faculty Research Award, made a website to host it and also document other stories on quality of life issues in the industry.
On June 7, there was a stir in the press that covers the video game industry about poor working conditions at a studio in Florida. The International Game Developers Association issued a public statement frowning on poor working conditions and cited her website/report in their statement!
